How to Choose a Web Agency in Tunisia: The 12-Point Checklist
The wrong agency costs you a year and a rebuild. The right one becomes a long-term partner. This checklist is what we would tell a friend to check — including the uncomfortable parts.
1–3: Portfolio, results and references
- Real projects, not mockups. Open the agency's work on your own phone. Slow? Ugly at 375px? Broken Arabic? Next.
- Results, not just screenshots. A pretty homepage proves nothing. Ask: what did the site change for the client — bookings, sales, speed, rankings? We publish outcomes per project, because that is the only metric that matters.
- References in your industry. A restaurant site and a clinic site solve different problems. Experience in your sector shortens discovery dramatically.
4–6: Process, pricing and contract
- A written process. Discovery → planning → design → development → testing → launch → support. If everything is "we'll see", you will relive scope arguments weekly. Our 7-step process is public for a reason.
- Transparent pricing. Fixed quote, defined scope, ~40% deposit, milestones. Ask what happens if you request changes — how many revision rounds are included?
- A real contract. Deliverables, timeline, payment terms, IP ownership. No contract = no project. Read the terms before you sign any agency's.
7–9: Technical and SEO basics
- Mobile-first reality. Most Tunisian traffic is mobile. Ask to test previous work on a slow Android phone — not the agency's showcase laptop.
- Speed engineering. Ask for a before/after load time on a past project. A professionally built page should load in roughly two seconds on 4G.
- SEO included, not "available". Meta tags, semantic structure, sitemap, schema markup, Google indexing — these belong in the base quote, not as a mysterious upsell. See how we approach SEO in Tunisia.
10–12: Communication, support and ownership
- Language and availability. You will talk to this team for months. Arabic, French, English — whatever you think in, make sure they do too. Ask what support looks like after launch: response time, channels, what's included.
- Training and handover. Can you update texts and images yourself? Will they show you how? A site you can't touch keeps you hostage.
- You own everything. Code, domain, hosting, analytics, social accounts — registered in your name, handed over on request. If the agency registers your domain under their name, walk away.
Red flags
- "Guaranteed first page on Google in 30 days" — nobody guarantees rankings; real SEO takes months
- Full payment upfront, or no invoice
- No contract or a one-line WhatsApp "agreement"
- Portfolio of template demos with fake clients
- Refuses to give you admin access "for security reasons"
- Hosts your site on their personal account with no exit plan

Frequently asked questions
How much should a good agency charge in Tunisia?
For a business website: 3,500–7,000 TND. E-commerce: 5,000–12,000 TND. See our full price breakdown for 2026.
Agency, freelancer or DIY builder?
Freelancer: fine for small scopes if the portfolio and contract are solid. Builders: fine for testing ideas. Agencies: when the site must generate business and you want a team accountable for it.
What should I prepare before contacting an agency?
Your goal in one sentence, examples of sites you like, your content (texts, logo, photos) if it exists, and a realistic budget range. This halves the timeline.
